Good Housekeeping Loves the New 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

The prominent women's and home life magazine, in partnership with the auto experts at Car and Driver, appreciated it so much, in fact, that it recently awarded the Chrysler family minivan the status of 2019 Best New Car in the eponymous category. That put a feature in its cap for the second year in a row.

They didn't simply appreciate one or another feature, either. The esteemed judges of the Good Housekeeping Institute clocked more than 5,000 miles both on test tracks and open roads assessing hundreds of new vehicles for the value of what drivers prioritize most. That meant considering everything from handling and safety to interior design and comfort and technology.

The verdict, per Rachel Rothman, Good Housekeeping Chief Technologist and Engineering Director, was clear: 2019 Pacifica had "all the useful features [one would] want, at an unbeatable value ... [it was] the ultimate family vehicle."

The GHI had plenty of favorite features to name for such glowing praise, too. For one, plenty of versatile cargo space. Reviewers were pleased with the host of bins and cubbies, capable of storing everything from luggage and essentials to children's' toys and snacks, as well as the easy-to-fold-and-stow seats. The Pacifica enthusiasts here at Bill Harris Chrysler Dodge Jeep can think of a few of their own qualifications there. First, second-row, folding Stow 'n Go bucket seats and third-row Stow 'n Go 60/40-split bench seats, the latter conveniently folding down into the floor. Second, the ability to configure the compartment in up to 243 different ways for both passengers and cargo, access by and to which was easy thanks to innovations like an available hands-free liftgate.

Secondly, the experts appreciated that second-row passengers could get their own 10-inch touchscreens for personalized entertainment via the available Uconnect Theater with Streaming Package. We personally love the Blu-ray DVD player option and the games and apps that the system builds in for the kiddos, not to mention remote control capability. In the same vein, GHI liked the Uconnect infotainment system for its ease of navigation. That owed, we'll bet, to features like voice recognition, a drag-and-drop menu bar, and one-step nav support, among others.

Finally, the periodical saw distinctive merit in the secure fit and installation of child safety seats in the van. Indeed, the LATCH system is great for keeping them snug; eight-seater Pacifica models support securing up to five.

Needless to say, there's plenty more of appeal in the new 2019 Chrysler Pacifica, and you can check it all out right here at Bill Harris Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Ashland, OH.
